Turkey Rhubarb Root (Rheum palmatum) - Simple and Safe. The Best of All Colon Cleanse Remedies.
Of all colon cleanse remedies, Turkey rhubarb root may have the most unique property. The herb causes a brisk, healthy purge, without clogging the bowels and producing constipation. This remedy also cures diarrhea by removing the cause of irritation within the intestine and then applies an astringent action to the intestine to suppress the diarrheal activity. The ability of this herb to treat diarrhea and constipation simultaneously is uncommon. Too often, a stronger purgative will cause a clogging effect which results in constipation, a condition purgatives are suppose to treat. This property of curing diarrhea while not causing constipation is what makes Turkey rhubarb root one of the best colon cleanse remedies available.
Turkey Rhubarb Root. Appearance and Usage as a Colon Cleanse Remedy.
Turkey rhubarb resembles familiar garden rhubarb in many ways. Except this rhubarb is much larger, grows to a height of 11 feet, the shape of the leaves are somewhat different, and their spring buds are yellow not red. The root of the plant is used in colon cleanse remedies. This is also the case with essiac tea. It is one of the eight herbal ingredients included in our essiac formula. The root is thick, of an oval shape, brown externally and a deep yellow color internally. The roots are harvested in October from plants that are at least six years old. They are then dried for later use. The root of the Turkey rhubarb is not dried, but is fresh when processed for essiac tea; unlike colon cleanse remedies consisting of Turkey rhubarb root alone.
